Andre Tanker

Andre Tanker is considered one of the most original musicians that his country produced. His influence on the music of Trinidad and Tobago was compared by David Rudder to that of Bob Dylan on American music. Tanker's work defines the Caribbean folk-jazz genre. Andre's successful music career spanned over four decades until his passing in 2003. With the help of his family, daughter Zo-Mari and wife Christine, Left Ear Records were able to reissue one Andre's rarest 12” records, Basement Party, originally released in 1980. The record is just one example of Andre's talent to canvas numerous genres and produce music that is truly prodigious.
